    Is it not fascinating the degree of interest expressed in this subject by those in the fortunate position of being able to make a choice about their head of state?
    I somehow think it elicits a largely "so what?" response from the majority of subjects in the UK.

    Strange for you to say that, as I was thinking the opposite, noting that the posts in this thread by those of British birth were outnumbering those of American birth nearly 3 to 1.

    All I have to say in that matter is that though Charles certainly lacks charisma, I find myself often in agreement with his views, such as his dislike of ruining historic skylines by the addition of hideous modern buildings.

    And in closing, may I say that while the Duke of Rothesay has a few blots on his character, I do think he would make a very good 21st-century monarch.
