Re: Kilted In Class: A Minor Victory
Sounds like with the end result instead of visiting Professor McEwan, I would have been visiting a McEwan of the 16 oz. variety. Well done

Re: Kilted In Class: A Minor Victory
I am a retired university professor who taught in undergraduate, graduate, medical, law and residency training programs. I could not care less how students dressed their bodies but only concerned with what they had in and how they used their minds. One of the things I liked most about university teaching was that I did not have to put up with this sort of "high-school" mentality -- but then I have been retired for more than ten years. There is no better feeling or more significant sign of mature rationality however than winning an issue through a reasoned appeal to established principle, evidence, and superior example. Well done!!!

One can hope that she doesn't stoop to that.
On the other hand, once you get to a certain point in life, you can realize that there are more important things than grades. Integrity is one of them. If you were earning an A and somehow that mysteriously changes to a C ... well, have a conversation with the woman, grit your teeth and move on.

I had an instructor do that. I had my final grades changed at the administration level and the instructor got an immediate reminder that she did not have tenure.

However, without pictures of the honeys, we cannot verify if it ever happened.

That was my initial thought. Working in construction and field engineering I have had to deal with less than scrupulous people who were more than happy to seek an advantage like this in an effort to advance themselves. Your professor could be drawing up a case for filing sexual harassment charges and saying you flashed her or worse simply because you wish to wear a kilt. So i am obviously jaded on this issue so I am not the best council but I think I would talk to her supervisor and explain myself and the conversation you had. It might also help to keep a journal of the days you go kilted and the particulars should you have to explain anything.
Best of luck. I hope it's a simple misunderstanding that was fully resolved.
Please excuse the spelling errors. My IPhone is "helping" me.
