After work on Thursday afternoon I decided I had better take advantage of what may very well be the last truly nice day that we have around here for a few months and decided to go for a hike around a trail loop at a local nature preserve. As I often have lately when hiking I decided to do so kilted. I reached about the halfway point and was making my way up one of the steeper, rockier inclines when a young lady jogging the other direction passed me. I noticed she was looking at me as she passed but didn't think anything of it till I heard a thud followed by a couple of grunts. I turned around to see she had fallen and actually rolled a couple of feet down the hill. I went back to check on her and thankfully she was ok. I helped her up and she admitted to being so distracted looking back over her shoulder at the guy in the kilt that she failed to pay any attention to where she was going and had tripped on a fairly large rock. She asked why I was kilted; to which I merely told her it was comfortable and that apparently satisfied her curiosity. We talked for another couple of minutes, and I asked if she was sure she was all right. I watched her start back the way she was going to be sure she wasn't limping or anything. Once I was confident she was fine I resumed my journey. Couldn't help but chuckle a little when I thought about it the rest of the hike.
