Re: A Moment of Your Time to Remember
They will be remembered the world over.
They did not die in vain.
We will never forget.
Lang may your lum reek and a wee mouse never leaves your cupboard with a tear in its eye.

Re: A Moment of Your Time to Remember
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Thanks for that one, Jordan.
You took me on a long and winding you tube road that left me crying in front of my computer. There are a lot of tributes out there and I've lost a lot of friends.
Thanks again.

Re: A Moment of Your Time to Remember
Oh yes. When I came to the end of this winding you tube road, sitting crying in front of my computer, I came upon a quote that made me feel better.
It said "A Warriors heart can weep too, that's OK".

Sorry I didn't intend to bring anyone to tears, it was just a video I stumbled across that I thought the members on here would appreciate.

Re: A Moment of Your Time to Remember
Does anyone have a link to the Canadian soldiers of wars past walking through the grocery store? I've been wanting to watch it again.
Over the last few days I've been wearing a poppy (courtesy of a British contingent when I was in the Middle East) and I didn't see a single other poppy the entire time. Very sad, especially as I live in an area heavily populated by active duty, reserves, retirees, former service, and Department of Defense employees.

I was unable to attend my local ceremony this year, and spent 11 AM in a lineup at the ferry terminal. I was listening to the radio when I was suprised to hear the B.C. Ferries announcer explain that the two minutes silence would be observed by all the employees and that we were all welcome to join in the observance. It was very moving.
