Leather Panel Kilts are out!
I am incredibly excited about this kilt!
Our standard Alt.Kilt with a unique twist. We collaborated with GreyCat Workshop to make this hand tooled Leather Panel Alt.Kilt. Each panel is made individually for every kilt and is fit to the length of the kilt. With our new system of styling, these leather accents are interchangeable and can easily be swapped out to change the look of the kilt. They are held on with Chicago screws through tiny eyelets reenforced with thread. The kilt can also be worn without the pleat and their hold points are barely visible.
The designs for the leather panels are unlimited. We are featuring four of them here - two are from our Steampunk leather accent kilts - but there is additional option for complete custom work. Additional panels are available for purchase as a stand alone item in our Accessories section. Please note that these panels attach differently than the Steampunk accent kilt panels but both styles are available for purchase.
Available here: http://www.altkilt.com/leatherpanel
Thanks!
Jeanie

Wow! That is a great looking kilt and I really like the idea, but I am a little concerned about movement. You know that, with kilts, "it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing." How much do the leather panels hold the kilt down?

I like it! And I like what you do with all the different details for customization. While I put myself in the semi traditionalist camp, I can see myself in something like this. Very nice!

Not much actually - the leather is tooling weight so it isn't too heavy to start and it s waxed and conditioned so not completely stiff. It is held on at 6 points - just under waistband, fell and bottom hem - and this allows for a good swing especially in the rest of the kilt.

Leather Panel Kilts are IN!
I have to say that I am loving what you have on your site! I was looking but wasn't able to find any images of the various patterns for the stock leather panels. Where should I be looking? (I see that he is wearing 'gears')

Some interesting design ideas there. By the way, is your cat wearing a tie?
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

Our base 4 of them are here: http://www.altkilt.com/node/438 in the four pictures. Two are from our steampunk collection (celtic knots and compass rose) and can also be seen on those kilt pages as well.
There is always the option of custom panels as well.
Thanks!

We consider it an ascot. We put it on him at Christmas and honestly, he argues something fierce if we try and take it off of him. I think it makes him look dapper.
