I notice he's wearing the cap badge, collar badges, sporran, kilt, etc of pipers of The Black Watch. What is interesting is that his drone cords are Saffron and his drone ribbons are MacKenzie Seaforth. There's probably a story there!
You're probably right... I spoke to him briefly and what I DO know is that he's been piping at this ceremony every year for the past 20 years. He mentioned it because he also mentioned that in his personal recollection of the last 20 Remembrance Days in Yokohama, there has not been a single rainy day. It has been bright and sunny on that day as far back as he can remember.
