    For those who are interested in decently made traditional sgian dubhs (i.e. carved wooden hilts, leather sheaths, carbon steel blades, etc.) that don't cost a fortune, there is a line put out by John Barnett in the UK that are quite reasonable in price (£14 + shipping) and better looking & more traditional than much of what is offered elsewhere in the same price range:









    The same maker also offers a line of dirks in matching styles for around £53 + shipping:







    These can be found on ebay, and through several other on-line merchants. I have purchased some from a company called Bay Tree Interiors in North Yorkshire, UK, and had good service from them.
