    Very nice indeed, Tom.
Enjoy your retirement – my status as of the end of September is semi-retired.

Tom, congratulations on your retirement. Speaking as a proud owner of a Tewksbury myself I'm sure you are well chuffed with your new kilt. Barb's work is second to none. The only thing that I would do different next time is to go with Barb's recommendation of just two straps/buckles, and add hanging loops. Mine does not have sporran strap loops, and I find no problem in not having them. I do like the look of your larger sett size.

    Hi Tom.

Fantastic Kilt and you'd be pushed to ask for a better kilt maker, a wise choice for such an auspicious garment (nice one Ma'am Tewksbury). Pleased to see you and your lovely wife have got yourselves home safe and sound. Çağman and I are just miffed we didn't get together again before you made the jump homeward, our lives always seem to be too busy and unfortunately it's always too late when you realise it. Are you missing the Bratwurst mit pommes yet? Herr Ober, noch ein ... All the very best on your retirement. Take it easy from now on in. Optimistically, we'll manage another night of revelry at some point in the future. Still remember the last weekend in January '10 with great fondness.

    All the best ol' chum!!

Superb photo, John! Aww mate, it sounds like you and Tom had quite the time together -wish I could have been there - with good mates - and also with equally good food and a proper pint or dram!

    Thanks John,

I also regret not getting up to your part of England to see you and your lovely wife again. I follow your posts though and that is the next best thing!

Yes, we are starting a new adventure in a new place, but it seems to be going well. We will miss the Christmas Market season in Germany. Bratwurst and Gluwein!

    Happy Holidays!
    Tom

Congrats on your new kilt. It's interesting to see two of the same tartan from different weavers. We all know ther is differences between weavers, but to see it compared like this is rare and interesting. What weaver does the fabric in the old kilt come from?

I like the larger sett and brighter red, but I'm going to keep the older kilt because my wife has a long skirt in that patter and I'll wear it when we attend a function together.

    Fantastic! Congratulations!

I like the subdued colours as well as the brighter ones... good job to hang on to that one too, I think!

    Cheers!
