Still In Full KILT JUNKIE Relapse Mode...
Lordy lordy I do so love "retail therapy!"
With my new Desert Digital Camo Survival II Utilikilt arriving yesterday, and my Cameron Modern wool on order with USA Kilts I had another "slip" today and called up those crazy people in Seattle and ordered TWO MORE Utilikilts!
A sage digital camo Original and a blue denim Workman's.
Maybe its the short jones - UK says they're only selling off the rack now...the Survival arrived in a week with the Thanksgiving holidays in the middle.
Maybe its the temptation - the bait - a free UK belt buckle... the 25% off sale...Rocky needing help with some extra tartan fabric....offering a "deal." I'm feeling the HIGH of my kilt addiction...
So these will be my 17th & 18th Utilikilts the 72nd & 73rd kilt purchases, and the 37th and 38th kilts still on hand in my bachelor cave.
You new folks take a lesson from this gutter kilt addict - you're playing with fire when you get this disease of FREEDOM!!!!

Forget about the meetings and the sponsor. Just revel in the fact that you can do it and post a few pictures.

I say that if you have the means to do what you want, and you're not doing something that hurts someone else, just go for it. No excuses, no apologies, no explanations.
Kilt on Ron.

Re: Still In Full KILT JUNKIE Relapse Mode...
Ron ol' chum, I feel your inner struggle!
I thought I was over it too but I've just crumbled again. My resolve it appears, is as sturdy as a chocolate biscuit.
My latest (this week) is going to be a made to measure Bobilishious "too good to miss" 16oz 8yarder in Black Watch weathered, pleated to the sett.
Picture nicked from Madmacs from another thread. Used here for illustration only, hope you don't mind.
For a while now I've stopped posting about new Kilt acquisitions. They were becoming fairly frequent and I got the feeling from a couple of comments that some folks thought I was bragging. This was not the case, I felt I was just sharing the excitement I was feeling but I toned it down anyway and I haven't done a review type post for ages.
I am really over the moon with this one. I've bought from Bobilishious before and have never had anything but top quality Kilts at most attractive prices. I too am as bouyed by "retail therapy" as you obviously are and the buzz for me is even better when the strike hits what I regard as a good bargin...
I've been wishing this particular Kilt for a couple of years now. I've persuaded myself it isn't part of my addiction... It's just a well considered Christmas present to myself. My wife doesn't quite see it like that though. This will be Kilt 21 and although it will probably be my last, it's reassuring to know I'm not alone in my addiction... (yeah OK, course it'll be your last John!)

UK says they're only selling off the rack now...
So they won't even do alterations any more for people who don't wear standard lengths?
I've always been annoyed by their absolute disregard for customer desires, but it seems to be getting worse.

I had been looking at that one myself for some time, glad to see it went somewhere good. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Will be interested to see how it turns out, just in case Bobilishious gets any Mackenzie weathered tartan in
And there are also a few really nice kilts on ebay at the moment too..........and in my size, need to resist

Not sure about Utilikilts' alteration policy. Know they've "chopped" quite a few for me. They seemed to used to keep their longest lengths on the rack and chop them for the shorter needs - charging for doing it too.
Alcohol seems a common thread in all their advertising and on line stuff...with a 25% off sale going on they may be hurting...just a guess.
Maybe I know too much about addiction, being a drunk, working with drunks and junkies...I ordered these two kilts in a fog - not a rational decision, well thought out - a fog...got the urge and dialed the phone....like a kilt zombie....
Beware gentlemen...the compulsion to kilt up in a new kilt is always lurking...and the passion for accessories seems so much less - but I think we spend more on accessories than we do kilts...so much less expensive...so easy to buy "just one."

John there is another thread on here with a military box pleat kilt in this tartan made by John Hart of Keltoi and it really is a fine looking tartan

I truly hope you are not being serious. Your posts have never come across that way at all, and I have thorougly enjoyed them along with your travelogues

I have certainly been there

Just remember you can't take it with you. The newspapers are replete with people who died with a pile of the money in the bank and seemingly little happiness in their lives.
