Re: My New Tank
Love the sporran, now I want one . White hose, not a problem with the Arran, goes well. Shoes? as above, I personally don't like gillies.
Just one question, when wearing a sweater, does one tuck it into the kilt or not. I don't tend to wear sweaters with a kilt, usually just a polo shirt for casual. I saw a chap up in Mey village once with an Arran sweater and a kilt but the sweater was quite long over his kilt and he was not wearing a sporran. It just did not look right.
Your tank looks great.
Chris.

I think a good rule of thumb considering sweaters is that if you should wear the item with a kilt the same way you would wear them with trousers. In general you don't tuck in a pullover into your pants therefore you shouldn't with a kilt. An overly long sweater that covers up much of the front apron and your sporran is very flattering to the kilt. A better choice would be a sworter waisted one.
The aran one that Simon is sporting is just top notch with a kilt. Military style Woolly Pullys are perfect with the kilt.

Re: My New Tank
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the feedback! You are great - gonna be sorting out some brogues soon - I was unsure of the Ghillies as I don't really like them either, but there is a place for them. Thank you for the compliments on the Arran, I asked mum not to knit it too long as I did not want it to hide the sporran and have it all bunched up on top of it. I guess she got it right She is, as I write this knitting me another one, although the pattern is different. When she has finished it I will post some pics for you!
The sporran was purchased from a great site. http://www.centaurdesign.co.uk/
It was ordered and delivered within three days. I did, however, replace the sporran chain with a leather one, also from the site, and again this was delivered in quick time.
I shall post pics of me wearing my Argyll jacket and go for a more formal look and seek your opinion on the 'look' too.
Once again thank you for your input![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Kindest,
Simon
