I'll have to see what Fatima comes up with. She tells me that India, Syria, Egypt and North Africa are the best places to buy silk, but in India you have to be careful because alot of their silk is the cheap short strand stuff and not very strong. It'll sure be a challege and if I wanted tartan it would be out of my price range. Silk tartan runs over $40 a yard and plaids I've seen in silk otherwise are not very good looking.
