Whoa. I'd call that an assault kilt. Cool boots, too.

Thought I would resurrect this post. I've had some recent, fresh objections from my wife.

This past week we've had visitors from the US and most of the week I've been kilted.
During meetings and chats I've tried very hard to sit "decently", but my wife says my underpants have been exposed quite a bit (at least I was wearing some).

She says that men just don't know how to sit in a kilt

I always sit by pushing the kilt down between my legs or sit with my legs together.

Has anyone else faced these difficulties?

    exposing your bahoogies?

Don't worry Graham, my wife's said the same thing. I think us men were born to be obscene and not heard.
    Cheers Rhino

I hate to say it, but the butt sweep is the best. You can sit with your legs spread (Sporran between them) or any other way.
    Cheers,
    Allen

Right on. This is the only way to go. I now do this automatically ... never get a negative comment about exposure.

I've heard stuff like, "men just don't know how to sit in a kilt," quite a bit lately. I hear this as 'men don't know how to sit in a kilt the way women sit in skirts.'
We're built differently, so we sit differently.
A rare flash from a guy in a kilt is not criminal. If it was criminal to flash, a good part of the female population would be in prison.

Bur bear, you know women are held to a different standard than men.

But bear, you know women are held to a different standard than men.
Not if the woman likes the flash, or lifts your kilt herself, or it's the first Saturday night of the month in Vancouver.

    Timing is everything.

By this you mean sweeping the hand or two hands behind as you sit to keep the pleats from being crumpled? If so, I understand and do that automatically.

In meetings here we commonly all sit in a circle on chairs. Therein lies the problem, but I think my wife is oversensitive, if I wore shorts I would be showing a lot more leg.
Kneeing on the floor is a safe position, but not always comfy for long periods. (Even us Christians are not always good on our knees )

"The occasional flash" Bear? well no, it's not acceptable for me if it can be avoided, but accidents happen. I don't want to bring the kilt into disrepute more than I can help. There are already too many jokes about what's under it.
