    Re: kilt buckles

My canvas kilt kind of did that. If the left buckle was on the first hole, then the right strap had to be on the second hole or the under-apron would fold up under the right buckle.

It bothered me, so I moved the right buckle to make the straps go on the same hole; I was making some other changes to the apron anyway.

Sorry if that's not what you're talking about.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

    Re: kilt buckles

Why not try to balance the straps on both sides. My kilt is a 34" - 36" and when I am wearing a winter long sleeved vest (underwear) and a woolen thick shirt I am a 35" waist and balance both straps to the middle hole.

    Lightbulb Re: kilt buckles

I think that Barb T & The Borderer pretty much nailed it on the head. Now here is my tuppence worth; having experienced all of the above conditions, I feed the left strap thru to the buckle, but don't fasten it, then I feed the two right straps thru the buckles. At this point I position my kilt and square it up, and finally, tighten them down. I don't really care what holes are being utilized, just that my kilt it hanging Regulation and comfortable. Now I have to get back to my Intergalactic space travel computations.
    Aye Yours.
