Re: Kilts in new Sherlock Holmes

Downey, Jr. is horribly miscast as Holmes. He fits none of the physical descriptions of Holmes in the stories - and doesn't much behave like him either (regardless of Holmes' described skills as a boxer and swordsman, and occasional descents into drug abuse). I struggled through a viewing of the first film, but really couldn't get beyond Downey's bizarre interpretation.

Jeremy Brett was definitely the best on-screen Holmes. Though, there was a Peter Cushing portrayal in a version of "Hound of the Baskervilles" that I quite enjoyed.
