Al,
It is well known that Geordie Land and Tyke Land (Northumbria and Yorkshire for our American friends) are the unhealthy eating capitals of England. Exercise will help Al, but there is no substitute for healthy eating. When (in the 1970s) I moved from the (healthy) South to Yorkshire, I was appalled at the 'gravy and chips with everything' mentallity, and it certainly shows in the heart disease statistics. I hope you are not one of them Al. You wouldn't want to become too big for your kilt, would you?
Rob (who is trying hard to avoid weight increase)
You may have a point, Rob, though I tend to eat quite healthily as a rule. That is until I work a late shift and pass the Chinese Takeaway or the many Indian Restaurants we have around here. It is a well known fact that it is an insult to refuse food offered by these folk, so what do you do?.........
Al
