Re: Member ripped me off
***sigh*** That sucks, Hugh. I know it tool me a while to get your sporran to you, but at least I kept in touch and showed you pictures of why it was taking as long as it did... I can't imagine doing that to someone. And I have to say that as an upstart myself, I appreciated your business and faith.

Unless it has changed, paypal gives a 60 day window for transaction disputes.
Credit card companies usually off a longer time frame, have seen ranges from 90-180 days depending on the bank backing the card.
Hope that helps.

That is truly unfortunate ![Sad](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
Do you have a legal name for this guy? I'm asking for two reasons, the first is because it would make it easier for you (or the law) to track him down. The second is so you can share it and none of us will be fooled should he show up somewhere else under another alias...

Re: Member ripped me off
I almost took him up on his offer as well, but opted out. Too bad you got stuck biblemonkey...hopefully there will be some resolution in the end.
Guys who pull stunts like this make it harder for honest people to do business, in any field. I deal with the aftermath all the time. A few bad apples stink up the whole basket.

worst part is he uses "army" in this email, this guy should be hung just for that alone, if he truly is in the army, he should be booted out, no one that is that low to rip off a fellow human being should be allowed to associate with the army

Unless, of course, he got unexpectedly/suddenly deployed somewhere and is temporarily incommunicado because of that.

Re: Member ripped me off
Last we read, he was trying to get into the army, but was required to lose weight. He was using his kiltmaking hobby to keep his mind off food. Perhaps he was deployed, but he also broke the rules of the forum for advertising without a license--and was duly admonished. Now he takes money from a member and does not produce the goods he promise, nor did he give a refund or timely explanation. Bad form.

That is still a Gmail account. If it were indeed an army e-mail account it would be daniel.clark@us.army.mil or something similar to that.
A stranger in my native land.
Kilty as charged.
