Re: New Year's Eve
I will probably wear a waistcoat with the outfit just for the added warmth. It's supposed to be cloudy and drop down to around 40 degrees in my area on Saturday night. I can always take the jacket off at the party if it gets too warm.

Right. Or somewhere between Jamie's #4 look and Glen's #5 look in this thread: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-attire-46888/

Re: New Year's Eve
I'd wear a tweed jacket and waistcoat with a simple leather day, or head-on sporran.
Cheers,

Re: New Year's Eve
I hadn't thought about wearing a turtle neck with a tweed jacket like in Jamie's look #4 or maybe his look #7 or Grant's look #5 in http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-attire-46888/ with the Rob Roy sporran.

Re: New Year's Eve
Robert,
Hard to beat a turtleneck shirt and a tweed jacket. It says relaxed, comfortable, and stylish. It also doesn't attract unwanted looks if it is a notch below or above the rest of the crowd's formality level. The Buzz kidder sporran is a simple, practical, and handsome one. It will fit with the jacket and shirt well
Good choice in my opinion
Cheers

Re: New Year's Eve
If bsiness casual is taken as trousers and a shirt with a collar, then I'd likely say that a kilt with a sweater and a collared shirt (no tie) would be more akin to business casual... Of course I'd suspect busness casual is the minimum requested (ie no jeans and training shoes)...

Re: New Year's Eve
Panache suggested that I wear something like this. What do you think?

I'd say that definitely works!
