Re: What did you get for Xmas!?

Well the gift that would be the most interesting to this forum was a new sporran. Pictures will wait until the new kilt arrives. I knew I was getting something like this but I did not know exactly what. This is because my wife who gets better at gift giving every year, is terrible at keeping secrets, even her own.

The oddest gift (or is it a pair of gifts) was a set of DVD's. I got from one person two copies of season one of the 1970's series S.W.A.T.. Apparently it was supposed to be season 1 & 2 but there was an ordering problem and instead of returning one he just wrapped up both. Then from another person I got another copy of the same DVD set. So I now have 3 copies of season 1. I have no idea what to do with the other 2 copies, perhaps I can find someone who will buy season 2 and trade with me.

Other than that I got several interesting books. One on Beer and one on Scotland. I got a game I wanted called Tetris Links, which is kind of like a board game version of Tetris set up similar to Connect Four.

On the non family front, I got my usual gift from Maker's Mark this year, which is a holiday sweater for my bourbon bottle.

I spent much of the day alone as I had to work the night before and the night after Christmas day. So allot of the say time was spent asleep. Work the night before made the national news, and not in a good way.

Re: What did you get for Xmas!?

My Missus of 33 years gave me three pairs of hose in colors that I wanted (needed).

My Daughter gave me a mounted pen & ink drawing of a dragon playing bagpipes (which can be seen here: http://www.dragonstuff.com/popup.php...=Bagpipe&id=88)

My Son and Daughter-in-Law gave me a framed coat of arms with history in our family name and a few honorable mentions. This gift is extremely interesting for two reasons: First, most of the family that I know of arrived here between the First & Second World Wars and were mostly peasant stock skilled workers. Second, while I still lived at home, my Mom and I bought a framed coat of arms for my Dad. None of the information on my gift, other than the name and the honorables in the family line, is the same between the two, including two different coats of arms.

All of the gifts are precious but not as much as just being with them.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.
