Credit card is the most secure method--using other people's money. Pay them off in full each month.

    Re: Payment preferences online

I have a small buisiness, registered with our DSS and selling worldwide, and it is only by using PayPal that the fees for transactions can be justified by those buying from other countries. We do have an increasing number of purchasers in the UK using PayPal, one of the attractions being its speed. I can send details of an item, agree a price, send an invoice and have the money then post it off the same day, sometimes before lunch.

The machine knitting market is usually quite small scale and not wealthy, but I am well known on the Yahoo! Groups lists now and visitors to England detour to make purchases directly, whilst we have mail order requests from all over the World - the US, Russia, Australia, Canada, all paid by PayPal.

It might be just good luck, but using PayPal has been trouble free, both for the selling and then using the funds for buying, though the purchases have been much more local.

    Re: Payment preferences online

I always use PayPal if I can. I like the protection that comes with it, although I've only had to go back to them once.

I bought something overseas a couple years ago using my credit card online, and I found a charge for about $70 from a hotel in Khazakstan (spelling?). It was just small enough that you might overlook it if you don't carefully peruse your billing.
