    Did nothing but drive to my instructor's place, maybe the temperature change helped. I told her about and she just took it off.

    She said it might have been the moisture on the hemp that made it stick. Possibly.

    Still scared the heck outta me!

    Glad to hear it came out. Nothing like spending a grand on a somewhat fragile musical instrument (no snarky comments from the peanut gallery, please ) and then having to yank and twist bits and pieces around. I'm always afraid I'll hear wood splintering or delrin cracking.

    Well thats not that uncommon really.. I've played in some pretty nasty wet conditions and its often a giving that my pipes aren't coming apart till the next day. But the fact that you seemed to indicate that the chanter had been stuck for a few days, was what made me suggest poping it in the fridge to give it that dry temp change.. Glad it all worked out.
