Good point, remember the big stink the Muslims raised, was it in France?, when the women were told they can no longer wear the headgear their religion demands.
(almost unfortunately) Christianity has no such rule concerning clothing outside of clothing being modest.
Relgious or not, the "descrimination" card is one that could well be played.
In Australia at least this is a big deal, we've been moving fast toward a mindless politically correct cultural desert for some years, but occasionally we can use the rules to work in our favour.

same thing happened here when the sikhs wanted to wear turbans while in mounted police uniform, they got away with it, also their school boys are allowed to carry a dagger, big NO NO, for the rest of us.
if you have any problems tell them reverend phil says it's ok.if need be I'll send you a copy of the church by-laws.

You can always play the "heritage" card too. Tell your supervisor(s) you wear the kilt because it's part of your heritage, and if they complain, ask them if you should file a formal complaint with Human Resources because of the discrimination you are under because of your heritage. They don't need to necessarily know that you might not be celtic if you let them jump to their own conclusions.
Trust me, if there's one thing corporations are scared of, its discrimination suits. The negative PR is enough that they'll avoid them at all costs.
If all else fails, sic Rev. Phil H. on 'em.

Thanx for all the advice but, I've been buttin heads with these folks for about four years now over similar issues and I will probably handle it the same as always. I just typically tell my boss, "fire me". And by his own admittance, he doesn't won't to lose me.
And as far as the discimination deal. They all know my religious beliefs of which I am very vocal and there is no discimination againest long haired rednecks. I have threatened to sick our "diversity" team on them though and that does get them to back off some. If I didn't disagree with most of what my company's diversity team does I would join up just for the power they have.
Aw well in a war of attrition I always win. And thanx again for the advice.
thanx...Ded N. Buried
