Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival
Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival are celebrating 17 years of bringing a "wee bit o’ Scotland" to the Northeast Florida area. Each year residents of Northeast Florida and the surrounding areas gather and enjoy the athletics, music, food and fun of the games.
The Games continues to grow and reflect the deep connections and effects the Scots and their descendants have had on the United
States as well as Northeast Florida in particular.
This years games will be on Saturday February 25th, 2012 at the Clay County Fair grounds, in beautiful Green Cove Springs, Florida @ 2497 State Road 16 West. The festival will begin at 9 AM and run until 10PM

Re: Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival
I can address the pub crawl issue.
Until last year, the NEFL Games sponsored a double-decker bus to come to Jacksonville and visit a number of local pubs during the week leading up to the games. This was intended primarily as a way of publicizing the games, as the funds raised by the pub crawls were minimal.
Regrettably, in the past couple of years, a few pub crawlers chose to involve themselves with activities that were not as "family friendly" as could be wished. When the Board of Directors of the games were informed of these activities, they were quite concerned that the pub crawl was becoming a liability.
So...to prevent drunken louts from bringing unwanted, adverse attention, the Board discontinued the sanctioned pub crawl.

I used to help set up the tents when it was held at UNF. I don't miss the games unless there's no option otherwise. I'll definitely be there! Love the fairgrounds location.

What's ironic is that I lived in Orange Park when I would come to UNF to help set up, but now I live just a few minutes away from UNF and the games are minutes away from where I USED to live.

The Mrs.'s brother and sister-in-law used to live in Jacksonville and I always wanted to combine a trip to visit with them and got to the NEFL games. They moved to Canada.
