Another choice for a bonnet without a tourie is the Irish caubeen. It's what I prefer.

you could always make your own as well! i did a few months back (link) and i get lots of compliments on it every time i wear it, mostly because every one else has the standard black/red design. i followed the guidance of Harold Cannon from his thread. pretty easy to do if your even somewhat handy with a needle and thread

The caubeen is my preference as well. J. Byous as a wide variety colors, weights, fabrics, with and without tails, toories etc.

You're not doing anything wrong. Nor, am I. We just didn't inherit those intense eyes and penetrating look from our fathers, like Ryan did.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
