***! I have three kilts and wear two of them regularly. A tank for more formal/dressier affairs...and my Box Pleat BW for hiking and casual wear. My third kilt was my first kilt, and I regret ever buying it...because now I can't get rid of it. I really don't want it, but nobody is willing to pay $250 (which is $50 less than I paid for it). I will probably end up making myself another kilt or two (most likely 6 yard knife pleats) down the road...but that's more because I enjoy making kilts...not because I need any more.

I agree with this 100%. In keeping with the previous thought of buying something and regretting it later...I have held off on buying several jackets. When I spend money on a tweed jacket, or an Argyll...it's going to be top quality and a good fit. I have done one tweed jacket conversion. It's okay, but I've grown to really dislike jacket conversions in general...I've only seen one or two EVER that were not immediately identifiable as a conversion. The real deal just looks 1000x better IMHO! When I get myself a real tweed jacket, I know that I will NEVER wear my converted jacket again. I know that might come off as a bit snobbish...but it goes with my mantra (learned after many wasted dollars in the past)...save up, buy once, buy quality!
