 Hi and Welcome from Georgia...
As Ron (Riverkilt) said above, you have a Good Chance of having a MacDonald in your Lineage. Clan MacDonald (Son of Donald) is a Family Division (Sept Clan) of Clan Donald. Both Clans were very large and both had Extremely Large Sept Clans of theirown.
A Good place to start to find out about your Family Name is to go to the Tartan Ferret (http://www.tartansauthority.com/tartan-ferrett) and type in your Surname. When you click on this link, you'll have to click on the Little Red Ferret Icon to take you to the Surname Search Bar where you then type in your Surname. If your Surname is a Sept Clan Name, it will tell you what Clan that you belong to. You can then find out about your Family History and about the Kilts used by your Family.
You can also go to Clan Donald at Wilipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Donald) and read all about the history of Clan Donald.
Another good place to find info about Clan MacDonald is ScotClan (http://www.scotclans.com/scottish_cl...d/history.html).
Check out these links and have fun with your KILT.
