    Graham,

I use the free version of Zone Alarm, and I have no problem viewing the photos. As far as I can tell, the only real advantage of using the pay-for version is that it tells you more about the software which is trying to infiltrate your system, and I don't care what it is as long as it is kept out.

What you say is true Rob, I bought it because i like to support good software that seems to serve me well.

The real question is: why does ZA allow you to see the photos and not me? Must be in the settings somewhere. Bit over my head I'm afraid

I've had recommendations for both Z/Alarm and N.P.Firewall. The versions I've seen are about the same price so the decision will be based on features. BTW...Does anyone here run their dial-up connection through a router? I have one but have never used it.

Blu, unless you have a home network a router on dialup is just agravation. It cuts your speed. Honestly, I'd never waste my time with one on dialup, I'm impatient enough now

I have a simple 2 computer network set up with a hub but we only use it to transfer files. The rest of the time the hub is turned off. So far at least, dial-up has served my needs well and it's inexpensive. (my scottish side showing thru a bit there.)

First let me get this out of my system...I run Linux so I don't worry!

Second. Zone Alarm keeps updating their stuff so if this is the newer ZA they may have changed some things from the older versions. The FAQ on the ZA site might give you a hint and if not you can submit a question and it might help someone else.
