Re: Where would you move?
I would have to say Rio de Janeiro.
My wife is a Carioca born and raised, and having been there 4 times, (once actually staying for 3 months) NEVER have I experienced such awe and enthusiasm for a schlocky yank (such as myself) in a kilt.
Brazil is a steadfast multicultural place, but is mostly of Portuguese, African, Native American, Italian and German influence.........
I went to an Iron Maiden concert back in 2003 while wearing my very first kilt... a Utilikilt copy sewed together by my mother-in-law in Rio de Janeiro...Hence my screen name Brasilikilt.
Anyways......I was greeted with an almost uncomfortable amount of attention from my fellow concertgoers...MEN! were actually asking to have their picture taken with me!?!?!?!
Anyways........Brasil is hungry for kilts and Scottish culture....
It's likely that one of these days I'll live there and bring a little more of it to them.
Wear your kilt proudly, but carry a big stick
