Can you fit into clothes you bought 10 years ago?

Bought a high quality leather jacket from Jekyll's Hide in January 1984, yep 1984. Still fits comfortably and is in good shape.

This thread has actually got me thinking about some of my own behavior that I was having a hard time explaining. In Hong Kong, one can have a nice pair of all-leather shoes handmade for just a little over $200 CAD, which is a pretty amazing price for such an item. I've been hesitant to drop the cash though, perhaps because my shoe size is the only thing that has changed in the last ten years...

I've got a shirt I bought in 1987; just wore it the other day. And a 1985 Unforgettable Fire tour t-shirt around somewhere....

Everything the same (age 52 to 62). Waist then and now varies between 36 and 40 depending on time of year (more food and less exercise in winter).

I feel confident that I can buy a kilt and fit it a decade or two hence. I've worn a uniform on the job for almost 37 years, and still have one original shirt, jacket and a few other bits that haven't worn out--and they all still fit. Providing I stay reasonably active when I retire, I won't have to worry about the kilts I have now, or the ones I intend to order.

Eight to ten years ago, I wore a 36 waist and they were tight. Now I wear a 32 and need a belt. Amazing what 8 years and well over 53,000 miles on a bicycle (since April, 2004) will do for you.

I could but it might become obscene. Ten years ago I had ballooned to nearly 300 pounds and at that weight even I, as an american male, couldn't look in the mirror and say "Yea you still got it" so now after a long, slow (and still continuing process) I am down to 220 High school weight was 200 (although wrestling when I was in the best shape was 185-190)
My problem was I never really bought quality except for my tails which still fit as I got them 20 years ago. I do have a couple of tshirts that still fit and haven't disintegrated although I just cut one into a wife beater style and will use it at the gym.
