It amazes me how often people with the rather unusual fashion choice of this forum bemoan the fashion choices of others

I respectfully disagree. My wifes younger brother wears "skinny jeans" and also sags them. I don't know which one (sagging or skinny jeans) is the lesser of two ridiculously looking evils!!! They both look equally absurd! I have know clue how he gets the jeans on let alone get them off! He must have some perfectly timed exploding lubricant to assist with the removing process!! He looks asinine! Unfortunately he's a really good kid, so I hold back a bit when I get on my verbally abusive rants, otherwise I'd let him have it...

Wow. Skinny jeans. They have to be the most unflattering, ridiculous-looking trend in years. Even well-formed young women look bad in them...and then to sag them?! I admire your restraint!

If he's a good kid, chances are you and he can poke fun at old pictures of him in 10 years. It'll be a great bonding experience.

I don't know that it's bemoaning more than it's amusement and disbelief.
Fashion is one thing but in my 50+ years I don't recall any fashion, no matter how absurd, that actually hindered you from performing everyday functions (like walking).
Let's face it - this fashion is stupid. there, I said it.

Corsettes, high heels, long nails, miniskirts (and some of the 'little black dresses'), dresses in general, hair hanging over one eye... How about what the servers wear at Hooters? There is only so much they can do in those outfits before things start to fall out. There are/have been a huge number of fashions that are very restrictive, but usually for females. Perhaps this one is 'wrong' because it is one of the few that seems to restrict males in their movement.

Please don't misunderstand, I also think this fashion stupid and I get a fair laugh when walking behind one of these clowns as he pulls up his pants every third step. And I am not (too) opposed to what the ladies wear, even when the fashion is clearly stupid and restrictive. I guess the difference is the saggy pants are restrictive and unattractive where a little black dress is restrictive and attractive (which goes along with our cultural tendency to think it's okay to objectify females).

I thought we were talking about men's fashions.
Agreed women have been "restricting" themselves for the sake of fashion since Eve started wearing a fig leaf.

Re: Really?? Suspenders for Sagging Pants

I never found the need for outlandish dress even in my teens/twenties.
So to keep to the No Pics rule, here are some photo's of me aged about 17 to 20.
I did not wear kilts then and we lived in Manchester.

Me on my bike in front of my/parents house aged about 16/17 (1960's)

My mother, aunt, me and wife about 1970

    Wife's father, My father, Me.
    My Mother.
    Wife's aunt, Wife, Wife's Mother.
All passed away many years ago except wife and I.
    C. 1967/8

Me up on the Pennines somewhere 1966/7 (you have my permission to laugh)

We used to go the centre of Manchester, dancing, clubs, cinema, most other males wore a tie and jacket, I never remember seeing jeans then.

I think going around dressed in drop pants, showing your underwear, at that time in Manchester, you would have been thrown in jail for indecent exposure.

If they want to dress like this, who am I to dictate, it's up to them.
    IMHO, they look just silly.

    Chris.
