Even the Eclectics succumb to tradition
A couple of months ago I was shoveling snow at work (the college) in a lined denim Pittsburgh Kilt.
A student came out for a smoke. She wore carefully chosen neo-punk garb, vividly orange hair and peeking from her sandaled feet were toenails of the same color.
After puffing a bit and watching me scrape ice for a bit she came over and said "Hi...why are you wearing that...?", pointing at the kilt.
"Jus cuz", was my clever reply.
"Oh. I like it" she said.
And as she turned to get out of the cold the iconoclast added "...but it should be plaid".

Ironic reaction from an iconoclast. Which one of you is the greater rebel? The one who carefully matches her toenails with her gothic-punk outfit, or the one who wears a solid-colored kilt?
