I am trying to design a tartan that combines the colors of the 48th Highlanders kilt (Modern Davidson - Green, blue, black, red stripe) which I wear by right, and the colors of my Armorial Bearings (gold and black) which were granted me by the Chief Herald of Canada (Governor General).
So this is what i have come up with. It has a 7" repeat. I want to get this done and registered, but don't want to do anything until I get your opinions, and the opinions of kilt makers on the forum.
I wonder, can you knife pleat to the stripe using the alternating red, and gold stripes?
If I did one or the other, it would be the gold stripe.
If I pleated to the sett, would that be better?
HELP! Not final, but a concept awaiting your opinions.
