Wearing a Kilt to a wedding

Hey guys, long time no see! My sister is getting married and I want to wear a Kilt, but my mom says I'll be showing up the bride and groom and that it would be bad manners. What do y'all think?

Why don't you ask your sister?

Aye. It's not your day or your Mom's. Ask Sis what she thinks.

Thirded. Stamped. I have worn my kilt to many weddings, and not once have I shown up the bride. All eyes are on her anyway, regardless of you. You will be a footnote at best.

Agreed, you may get and eye or two your way but the bride will outshine everyone. Last wedding I wore a kilt to the bride was thrilled I did but she by far was the center of the event. Ask sis, she may love you being in it.

Ask your sister and then visit the style threads for examples of what you/her think will be the best.

In that instance I would skip the event, I was told by one of my siblings they wanted me in a tux. I was quick to say if that is a mandate I am taking a pass.
To each his own, I just don't like being dictated to whether it's pants or a kilt.
