You look both look extremely fine and I wish you both many happy years together... you could do with getting some double glazing in your outhouse though!

And as far as looking like Mike Meyers, you will not be wearing it as a caricature, but as a fine-looking piece of man flesh. No more thought to that, please.

    Thank you, sir.

There was only enough room in my budget for either wool and windows or velvet and a dram. I think I made the right decision.

By the way, how is your supply of Jura? I've been wearing my tweed so frequently, I'm afraid it might soon become quite threadbare...might need a replacement.

I must confess that my midwestern roots forced me to initially interpret "outhouse" as an, um, outdoor privy. Took me a minute to figure it out.

Indeed you did; windows are highly over rated. I love velvet (I try to squeeze it into less formal black tie whenever possible) and I think it looks especially good with highland dress. I am currently coming up with a cunning plan to acquire a velvet evening kilt jacket... watch this space

The Jura supply is just holding out though it has been under heavy attack... fortunately Christmas meant that several reinforcements were flown in so the damage could be spread.

Wear on my friend, wear on! The wonderful thing with tweed is that it becomes part of you with age... and when your cuffs are worn or elbows threadbare you can feel that you have earned your leather patches then pause and take a moment to laugh scornfully at those who wear them through mere affection!

Wow, cable scot, see what you started? Discussions about velvet get waaay off track. I'm talking about malts and tweed and windows with Lime, and...well. I'll stay out of the rest.

You're welcome, but any time my comments are deemed helpful rather than offensive is quite a triumph. No more thanks necessary.

My apologies if you've already mentioned it, but when is your wedding? I'm sure you'll post pictures and accrue plenty of after-the-fact congrats, but I'd like to wish you the best from my family before the big day...the time leading up to it is when you need the good mojo. Bringing it all together can be a wee bit...stressful.
