advice on which outfit

ok so tonight is my scottish society meeting, and i just got a new argyle jacket off ebay a while back that i want to wear but im not sure which tie/kilt combo to go with. ive never worn an argyle jacket before but it seems like most folks choose to wear the neck tie with it, is bow tie also "acceptable"? i know and live by the "wear what you want" code but i was just looking to see what other folks thought looked best. now i do LIKE tartan ties with kilts, and i know most dont like it so we can skip all that parts of the conversation. and im sorry in advance for the crappy pics, the lighting in my apartment always makes things look yellowie. but its what i got.

Option 1 - Nightstalker kilt with grey striped neck tie. i also have a dark blue (navy) vest that i could wear with this as well, but don't have a pic of it. also i know the tie is probably a bit long, but i would get it to a better length for the meeting.

Option 2 - MacPherson Kilt with MacPherson neck tie (that i won at our burns night dinner auction)

Option 3 - Macpherson kilt with MacPherson bow tie (that my fiance got me for valentines day)

Option 4 - Basically same as option 3 just with the for mentioned navy vest

Option 5 - Basically same as option 2 just with the for mentioned navy vest

I like #5
I'm fond of vests and like the contrast of light and dark ,jacket/vest combo.
Also when in doubt ask your girl.

I rather like number 5 myself, but might I suggest you go with the grey striped tie instead of the same tartan as your kilt, so as to avoid to much of the matchy-matchy thing?

Another vote for #5 and I think that with the vest "in between," the tartan tie is not too much.

okay, so I'm a lady and ladies always CHANGE THEIR MINDS. Your "feelings" about what you wear will change. You might like it today and then wonder why you did that tomorrow.
Depending on how you take it: The bow tie makes you look like Dr Who. The vest is rather formal. How formal is your gathering?

Wear the bow-tie even if you don't wear anything else. It will pay dividends in the long run. Have a great time.

thanks every one, i am kinda feeling more towards 4 or 5 as well, glad to see every one agrees!!
