Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
It was a great decade. Liked the 70s better, though.

KIlted Friday Not
Our Scottish Society meeting meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month. I always don the kilt on those days. I wear it to work, which always causing confusion with the question, "It's not Friday, why do you have on the kilt?"
It's been a great way to promote the local Scottish Society.
When I showed up for the meeting this evening, a new member says he was unsure of the protocol if he should kilt up for the meeting. I mention, I would enjoy the company as I am the only one kilted.
Well not tonight, he replies as our new elected Chieftain comes in kilted!

Ern:
I did not see this thread, somehow missed it until this morning, but in all seriousness on of your earlier threads pushed me to making Fridays kilted at work.My boss is more kilt tolerant than kilt adverse, but I try not to push my luck. So for special days I wear the kilt and he is OK with it. My work schedule is longer hours Monday through Thursday and close at 12:30 on Friday. So I started wearing kilts on Friday sans permission. (better to ask forgiveness than permission) At first it was a little luke warm on the reception, now it is just an accepted thing by staff, vendors etc. I would almost bet that someone would say something if I wasn't kilted. I work in a lab and receive raw materials and cosmetic samples so generally the good tartans stay at home and my RKilts, AltKilts and PV kilts are my Friday norm.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Another Friday out in the kilt. Target this time, no comments, a couple of double-takes. One woman in the halloween candy section was pretty friendly. Then to a halloween store next door to find some things for one of my kids. A woman working there asked me if I had just finished performing and called me out on my outfit not being right. I was wearing a navy field shirt w/epaulets with the sleeves rolled, no tie or jacket. Told her no performing and that this was a casual outing, then she asked about the kilt, how frequently I wear it, etc. She encouraged me to find a kilt-wearing group, likening it to her Italian-American club and I told her I actually did belong to such a group -- Xmarks!

Today's kilted Friday in my new Joss Tartan KA kilt.
Money is flat and meant to be piled up.

I kilted up this afternoon to pick my daughter up from school and take her to swim lessons. Got a few stares when we went out to dinner but I am resolved to be kilted for the entire weekend!

Finally, my first Kilted Friday been wanting to do this for awhile. Has been a pretty good day so far - no snickers or funny looks from anyone. I guess I will have to try this again sometime. My boss took the pictures, so I guess he approves. Ah, freedom!

I've got big shoes to fill ... so I wear big socks!
