If you want to wear a kilt - do so. Most civilian pipe bands have boys and girls and men and women as players. There should be no problem.

The search feature on this board leaves a bit to be desired. But, while waiting for my post to be moderated yesterday, I read and read and read a whole bunch. I think I came across this site a few years ago, but never joined.
Now, in all of that.....anyone know a place where I can go try on jackets in the SanFrancisco Bay area that I won't have to take out a mortage on?
I'd also like a Shamrock kilt pin. But, I have to have all of this pulled together by Friday morning. Yeah, nothing like giving yourself *plenty* of time to do something.
Also, anyone have a pattern for a basic sporran? Not traditional for me to wear one, but without pockets, I need a place to put my phone, room key, smokes, and cab fair. They seem quite handy for that very reason. Imagine that a long, long time ago....guys knew we'd have to carry a cell phone. Ingenious!
