Re: (blog) PULLTEETH TUESDAY: Men in Kilts
The runway photos just make me think of masculine and feminine at the same time;
like they're wearing somebodys sisters skirt over their pants. I don't "see" a kilt there myself.

I would rather have my teeth pulled than wear such an outfit.

Well, I'm not surprised that any of the more traditional Xmarkers would dislike this blog post. This is the "Contemporarily made Kilts and How to Wear Them" subsection and I'm sure most of what ends up here doesn't float a traditionalist's boat. Nonetheless, I appreciate people taking the time to comment.
What does surprise me is that not one Xmarker of the more modern bent has commented on this blogger's stated approach to wearing the kilt. As per the quote I put in the original post, he basically says that he wears it as he would a pair of jeans. While I'm not too enthusiastic about the outfits he posted as examples, I think his general premise is sound.
Personally, neither the blogger nor the fashion models are styles that I would choose to emulate. Nonetheless, I can appreciate what they are doing...

I'm a little afraid to comment in this thread, CMcG, but I'm also missing some of the visual information and have to pick that up from the comments in the posts, and some other issues, too...
To my mind, a non-traditional kilt can take the place of jeans, when wearing tall socks or perhaps hose, and take the place of shorts in other cases. It adds something different to the outfit, even though it is being worn in place of those; they're not the same.

I think he misses the whole point though of the kilt already being an alternative to jeans as it is. I don't see how wearing a skirt over pants is in any way profitable, I would much rather wear (and be more comfortible) in one or the other.
I might as well start wearing pants over my pants.
I do get though the OP's point, that at least he has a decent intention.
