    Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures

    Hm, touchy ground here.

I've started wearing the kilt on Friday's at work (Friday is 'casual day' here). Everyone has come to expect that when they ask "Why the kilt?" that I'll simply reply "It's Friday."

I also have a membership at a "store" across the street so I walk over and play with 'forbidden to mention here' toys at lunch every Friday. That's the 'adventure' part of my Fridays.

(not toys, of course, used that with 'artistic license' in mind. Safety first.)

    Combine all the good stuff!

added pic from today, coworker took with phone so a bit fuzzy, sorry.

What's the good looking tartan you are wearing?

    Mael,

That's my California (official state tartan) in the muted color scheme. I like it a lot.

Nice. Which mill wove the fabric?

Sigh, I bought it through a local vendor. It was my first, when I first found this forum.

It was supposed to be Dalgleish, and the kilt was made in Scotland, but I do not have any actual proof which mill made the fabric or who the person was who made the kilt.

I didn't know enough to require an answer to those questions at the time.

Friday's adventure was taking a newbie to the range:

    Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures

My Alma Mata University of Virginia had a bye for the Quarter Finals of the ACC Basketball Tournament this Friday. When I attended, I definitely didn’t dress preppy (jeans guy), but for work today, I dressed the preppy part including an orange & navy blue stripped bowtie. Kaki kilt is a Buzz Kidder, Artificer sporran and belts.

Took the afternoon off to watch the game; lost to NC State. Least I looked good!

I've posed the question to the HR department here at work, approximately a week ago, about wearing a kilt to work and so far all I've gotten back is a bunch of cricket (the insect, not the game) noises. Initially they asked a few questions and I even gave them some advice based on other companies that I have worked for.

I fear that they either haven't stopped laughing yet or that they are all unconscious due to a lack oxygen to the brain.

Realistically though, being an HR department, I have the feeling that they are looking for a politically correct way to tell me no.

    Cool

Does Saturday yard work count? I have never worn my kilt other than to a festival. I have wanted too, but, have been trying to build up my courage to do so. Yesterday I wore my UTkilt all day doing yard work. It was rather freeing no pics, sadly.
