    Yeah, my Navy crackerjack was 100% wool, no probs...just the other night and these particular hose. When I wear them again we'll see if I have the same prob.

    Based on that picture, this is a pretty fair assumption

    In all seriousness, I find sometimes with good, thick wool socks that my feet sweat no matter what shoes or boots I wear.

    As to the OP, I've worn wool socks with combat boots in the desert without problems. I don't really think it's the wool, esecially at 25 F.
