Congratulations soon-to-be Mom and Pop!
AA gave you the best advice (above) that I can think of. They do grow up too fast. Spend all the time you can with him. He won't grow up any slower, but you'll feel a bit better about it, when he does.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Congratulations. Unfortunately I can not give you any advice for your upcoming adventure, being kidless and all, so i'll wish you good luck and send some prayers your way.

Aw man, I'm the father of two boys .. your life is going to change ... you can't imagine the incredible man you are going to become ... and the incredible joy a son will find in you. Nothing will ever be the same, brother.

Congrats to you both. Less sleep, less time, less money... Oh the joys of parenting. Enjoy it all, every minute.

Re: New Baby on the way!
I made similar pronouncements 24 and 4 years ago with my boys, and 22 years ago with my daughter, and found that they were only the first of many proud and happy moments to come. Congratulations you you and your lovely lady.
I read rlloyd's comment above and, in the early morning brain fog, thought he said "addiction" rather than "addition". Reread it and got it right the second time. But then I thought about it and reconsidered---having a baby really is kind of like an addiction---once you start you just can't get enought of that little booger, and it can lead you deeper into the woods wanting more of them, kind of like the kilt addiction.
As a doctor I will make only one request--make that plea----please get your child immunized. PM me if you want to know why I feel strongly about this. As a father I can only suggest buying a small inexpensive but decent camera, maybe a couple if you can afford to, and keep them with you at all times, taking as many pictures as you can. This is especially critical with the second one and thereafter. Time will start to pass so quickly that you will really cherish those pictures as the jumpstart to so many pleasant memories much later in your and their lives.
Again, congratulations and good luck. You are in for the ride of your life, and may you only look back with smiles and joy from this day forward.

Enjoy every step. Mine's only 6, and I already realize how right AA is; it all speeds by.
Is this your first?
Our 3rd. Our oldest, Nicholas Owen is almost 7. Our daughter Ava Rose is 5. Baby # 3 's name will most likely be Dalton James.

All the best to you and yours! As frustrated as I get with my own two kids sometimes, I'd take on the world bare handed to keep them. I guess they grew on me after a while...
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?
