My new Keltoi green tweed
Yesterday, I got the package I have been waiting for.... my third Keltoi kilt..a green tweed 5 yd standard. I am so very pleased with John's workmanship (as always). My girlfriend, who is a seamstress, was also impressed.
I have always wanted a tweed kilt..and due to the fact, my work has picked up considerably, and I have less free time..I figured..what the heck, why not get it now...LOL
The pleat shot.... I wanted to have a standard knife pleat kilt, and I wanted something that whispered Marine Corps...subtle, yet I knew... John suggested the red and blue window pane...which I liked. I like how the blue is highlighted with the pleating, which opens a bunch of new options for hose, and garters.
a side shot and a view of my newest addition..my cromach... a blackthorn, with a black walnut Irish crook.
I like the look of the old Richard Ansdell paintings Matt and others have posted. I have commissioned Artificer to make me a goat hair sporran, with a leather cantle..I like that look, not of the gentry, but of the average "middle class" man.
Anyways....LOL... I am so pleased with John's craftmanship.. I am a loyal customer, and I have been pleased with all of my works with him.. I would recommend Keltoi to any and all, who are looking for a kilt. John works with you, discussing ideas you have, pleating styles, material, ect. He can work with you on a payment plan, if you need one... and gives you top quality service... I have even directed my own close friends to him.
Thanks John! and next we need to work on a simple jacket for my collection...

The shirt, I might add, is a British Officer uniform shirt....a three button pullover from What Price Glory.. I like the long tails and regular collar...the vest was a previous purchase from John, too.

Congratulations, it sounds very nice.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Very nice looking kilt! I like the hose, as well? Are those Skye hose from House of Cheviot by chance?
