Soon all those from Victor's generation will be gone, so will those precious memories, experience and wisdom accrued from some tough times, and the world will be a poorer place because of that, I am so sorry for your loss.

Victor will be sorely missed! I was over to the Hutchings house this afternoon, and his lovely wife Anne and son Ken are doing okay, given the sad circumstances.
Victor went easy in his sleep, and it's more of an occasion for tearful smiles and laughter, and wonderful stories of the ol' veteran (he was torpedoed three times during the War, and participated on the D-Day landings, amongst other adventures!).
Ken will now take up his father's kilt, and proudly wear it at future kilted gatherings - which is quite cool...!

Wow, I am very sorry to read this. Victor was a true gentleman and I'll really miss seeing him at kilt night.
