The Wee Kiltwalk
Just got myself registered for the Wee Kiltwalk on Easter Sunday. It is 10 km around the shores of Loch Lomond at Balloch. There is a big Kiltwalk leaving Hampden Park, Glasgow and finishing at Loch Lomond, its 26 km and I would have loved to have walked this but I have got too lazy in the past couple of years and would be too unfit for it so I will have to make do with the wee walk.
The Kiltwalk is an all day event culminating in a music marquee at Balloch and lots of fun throughout the day. Its a childrens charity so its for a good cause.

Jimmy: Have a great Wee walk. Post some pictures if you can. I would love to go along with you, but it's a long walk from New Mexico.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Land of my ancestors. Just love Loch Lomond and I'm very jealous. Photos would be much appreciated.

I will post some pics, hopefully it will be a dry day as I said I would have loved to have entered the big walk but would have to go in for training for that distance, nevertheless I get the same type of t-shirt as all participants

But Moo, think how fit you'd be by the time you got to Scotland! On the other hand, you'd better be wearing a waterproof kilt as I think there may not be that many overland routes from NM...
Got it! OK, walk north. Stop when you get to Canada and walk north west. Turn leftish at the Alaskan border, keep walking. When you hit water, swim. Traverse Russia (this may take a couple of days, so take sandwiches and a flask of tea). Ditto the Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and France.
Swim the English Channel (or take a ferry or a train)... then keep walking (north).
By the time you arrive at Loch Lomond, you'll be such an awesome physical specimen you'll be a shoo-in for the Highland Games season!

Sounds wonderful. Looking forward to photos. We are having an awfully early spring - t-shirts now in the middle of March. Is it unseasonably warm for you there?

Wow! Thanks. That's even better than MapQuest or Google Maps. Is that a minimum time or minimum distance route?
I'm a good swimmer, but I don't like cold water, so I may have to wait until the next ice age (or global cooling), so that the Bering Strait is frozen over.
As for shape, I'm still riding my mountain bike, so I'm OK there. The only problem I have at my age is when it rains my Depends swell up and sometimes I have trouble reaching the pedals.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
