My new Ebay find
Finally found a jacket & vest my size on Ebay....Problem, part of a set for sale....But wait, the kilt is listed at my size....
starting big $399......"show patience young grasshopper"...

After no bids and 2 re-lists it arrived today.
It was owned by a semi famous guy that is originally from Flint, MI about an hour drive from my home.
The jacket is missing a button on the cuff. I might just use one of the front button until I get a replacement. The vest is missing one on each pocket.
Wait, BONUS...they are loose in the pocket.
I do have a couple issues.
The items are musty....I am not afraid to take the jacket to the dry cleaners, but not sure about the kilt
The right side buckle is damaged. Fabric is torn. Can it be sewn or should I have it replaced?
It was my size originally. As the owner grew he had the straps replaced. They are 11" each. It went from a 32" to a 42".
Fix is easy enough. Cut them shorter and add new holes.
Jacket cuff are about 1/2" short, but there is room to move down.
However, the kilt length is 27". If it is too long do I leave it or get it hemmed?
Well? Too long? or does everything look ok.
Any critiques are welcome...., but might be ignored
Here are a couple pic with and without jacket.

Good pics.
You appear to be tall enough to wear a kilt in that length.

I agree, if anything it looks like the kilt might have more of a "British Army" rise and could be worn up a little higher.
Congratulations on the big score!

Your exactly right, but I have it up to my rib cage in those pics already.

To repair the buckle I'd remove the fabric carefully, open it out and press it back into shape, then use either fabric glue or a hemming tape - a fine web which is sticky on both sides when heated under an iron, to stick some strong fabric or a tape onto the inside.
The finer the reinforcement the less bulky the result will be.
Fold the fabric, replace the buckle and then sew the strap back into place.

Congratulations on the find! Maybe we'll get to see it at the next kilt night if I can make it.
