National Tartan Day at NSA
I just got the email. April 6th is on the National Security Agency calendar as National Tartan Day.
I'm looking forward to at least one day a year being able to wear my kilt to work!

Something tres interesting about a US Govt. Agency considering fashion, if only for a day...how widely publicized is this "new holiday"?.

great....I saw a total of 2 kilts when I worked in DC at one of the agencies... one was a Marine that used to be in drum and pipe corps....and other was a gentleman in the full formal getup at a dinner held at State Dept one evening I was providing some services for....

I would say that a different way to look at it is that the agency is not interested in fashion, but that the agency is supportive of diversity. I work for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I will be kilted on National Tartan Day. My wife and I will also set up a display in the lobby of the organization where we work for tartan week. This is a realatively new "holiday". There have been other threads here, and you can also google National Tartan Day.

^^agree. The agency I was at had days to celebrate different cultures and such....I am sure this is another of those supporting days for such causes.

The irony being that Geoff almost certainly can't provide photos. :-)

There's got to be a hysterically funny Photoshop opportunity here.

I just realized I will have new answers to "the question".
"That's classified, you aren't cleared for that information."
"I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you!"
By the way, this isn't a new "holiday", I just got it onto the agency calendar.

hasn't made it officially onto the State Dept. calendar yet. I'm going to be travelling, otherwise...
