I bought my caubeen from Glengarry hats, and it arrived right as scheduled.

Having said that, I'd like to second creagdhubh: Dunadd Trading Company markets Robert Mackie balmorals that are truly without equal. They're not cheap, but they are worth every penny. Food for thought on the next bonnet!

Well here it is the 26th of March. The postman has come and gone and still no balmoral from Glengarry Hats. And also no response to my last 2 e-mails sent to Ian. It seems pretty clear to me that I will never be receiving a hat from this company.
It'e too bad as some people in the past received items from him. But that was the past and this is now. Companies do change over time.
I shall be filing a report with paypal asking for the return of my money.

Estimated shipping time from the 5th of March was 4-10 business days, but that doesn't include any amount of time it could be delayed at the border. It's only been 16 business days, which IMHO isn't too bad... yet. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that you are never going to receive your hat.

If you are this anxious about waiting for your stuff to arrive (what some Xmarkers call "Jonesing" ), then make sure to specify -- and pay the premium -- for a faster shipping method that includes a tracking number.

Once a product leave the vendor's hands it's entirely OUT of their control. Crossing a border (even a "Free Trade" border like US/Canada) can take 3 days, or 3 weeks. Get a HARD date for when it shipped before being too rash.

That said, if he doesn't respond in the next few days I'd be tempted to start the chargeback process myself.

I'd say it was ordered in March, and it's still march, so no sweat.

Between countries things often get messed up.

Many a time delivery from the US into Canada has really tried my patience....but has Always turned up in the end!
Only once did a package fail, it was one from the UK I had sent to Australia.

    Do keep us posted.
