There are a lot of Kiltaphobic people around. I have a friend of mine who's mother is from Scotland and the last time we were going to meet for lunch she specifically told me not to wear a kilt. I first told her that she was jealous because she knew I had better looking hairy legs than her and she did not want me to show her up! When she said that she was serious I then told her that was OK because I'd just not wear anything! Given the choices she said the kilt was the lesser of 2 evil's. I felt insulted but what are you going to do.
Ironically her son (16), asked me later if I knew how to wear the Great Kilt. I told him I did and sent him instructions. When she found out about this she accuse me of corrupting her son...my comment was "And your point is what?"
She is still my friend BUT she is still kiltaphobic. I figure one small battle won leds to winning the war...eventually!
