We're down to the point where two tartans will enter thunderdome but only one will leave. Thanks to Rocky, I've got swatches. So please take a look at the pic and let me know which one you think goes better. I know which way I'm leaning, but I'd really appreciate the rabble's feedback.

How about THIS: https://picasaweb.google.com/MacLowl...eat=directlink
As usual, I would be pleased if someone could get this image into a post...
I pasted up one of the kurtas on the wedding dress site with a kilt from a well known Highland Outfitter. I'll bet you couldn't tell. Chopping off the Kurta is easy enough. The guy has a shawl-sash which I painted over a little. I think it looks pretty good, other than the extra hands, of course.

I grok that the Texas Bluebonnet didn't seem to make it to thunderdome, but I'll put in a vote to stay with it anyway, I often wear it with red or maroon hose and/or shirts to accent the red stripe, and I think something along those lines would look cool with the dress in question. You didn't say what sort of jacket etc. you are wearing, and details of the event, day or night?, indoors or out?

I've thought about that as well, and while it hasn't exactly made it to the final round, I haven't completely eliminated it. The two finalists in the picture I posted are MacKay and Roberts, which are hers and mine respectively.
I'm planning on wearing a PC style jacket. Haven't decided on hose yet, leaning towards charcoal. I'm just not sure about diced hose. I'm trying not to outshine my lovely bride.
The event is an Orthodox Christian wedding, indoors, at a church, starting at 5:30 PM.

I'm going through the process of wedding planning myself with my wedding coming up in october...... Only advice I can think of is wear the one you love most..... the bride will get attention no matter what and they're both similar. I'm actually going for tartan hose with white flashes and white sporran (but my wedding is in fact white tie).
Regardless....congrats on the upcoming day ....hope its all you have dreamed of!

Wear the kilt in your tartan, and have a Prince Charlie waistcoat (three button) made up in her tartan.

Here's a picture of her choli alongside my Texas Bluebonnet. We both like the look, but now there are too many decisions!

I like it! The Bluebonnet with a few red accents would be my choice
