Hahaha! Quite right, Scott! This is the first time I have done so.

I tied mine the way you'd tie your shoe, and it came out like this:

You'll have to tell me if it's good or bad! Haven't bothered to stitch it into place. I just give it a tug now and then to keep it tight....

I'm thinking of doing a "cheater bow" - that is, align and overlap the ribbons in such a way as to appear to be a perfect bow, then sticking 4-5 single button stitches through the middle in a matching color.

I'll let you know how it turns out, as my Mackie in royal blue has a very askew bow.

I don't sew any part of the bow in my Balmorals and have never had a problem with them becoming out of place, or undone and that is with a relatively loose knot - tight knots tend to 'scrunch' the knot too much, thus creating a very unsightly bow.

    Cheers,

I have always tied mine just the way I do my shoes. Is there another way?

Don't blame the Marines for your OCD on this bow thing. Sounds like something you should blame on your ancestors. LOL

I actually replaced my ribbons with flat black leather ones... (I had to after the originals suffered some damage and I thought leather would be a nice change)

The stiffness of the material makes tying a neat and flat bow pretty easy.
