Louis Vuitton sporran on Ebay
Just when you think you've seen everything!!
Not my cup of tea... and at $1500 an absurd price for a plain Day sporran.

That is more money than I've spent on my entire kilt wardrobe! Granted I buy a lot of inexpensive (but decent quality) used stuff and have received a few things as gifts... but still

It says that it is leather, but the front and the flap certainly aren't. Even though the goods are expensive, I have always had the impression that Louis Vuitton goods were a bit "cheap". Maybe I mean tacky. Anyway, even if it was a gift, I could not see me wearing it.

Grumble....once again no size given...at least there some kind of box in the pic to get an idea...looks small.
Amazes me how someone can expect to sell something like that, for so much, without giving any details about the size, etc.

Definitely not my cup of tea either and I'd rather buy a couple of well made kilts for that ridiculous price!
Cheers,

LV goods (The diced part on this sporran, the "monogram" part on their bags and luggage) are made from impregnated canvas, which is not vastly different from vinyl. LV fanciers will explain that it is WAY different from vinyl, but to most of us, the difference is pretty minor. Apparently, the stuff wears like iron. The trim IS leather and I am hoping that a thousand pounds gets you a nice leather lining.
A quick check reveals that LV purses of a similar size and construction are about the same price, which means, for once, the Highland Dress buyers don't have to pay a premium.
But it doesn't look like it would match my shoes, or mismatch them in a pleasing way.

I would soooooo wear that... But they dont have the kilt, jacket, shirt, socks, tie, belt and handkerchief to match...
I guess I'll just have to keep telling myself that people can tell the difference between a hand finished canvassed suit and a mens warehouse jobbie instead...
